HD1PY AED wall cabinets ensure a recognizable and sustainable storage of your AED device. The characteristic round shape and green color make it easy to be found and recognized and comes with a high quality appearance. The large AED logo, positioned in the transparent center of the cover, leaves no room for interpretation: this is a life saving device.
Easy operation
Our cabinets can be opened by an intuitive twist that removes the whole cover. The responder therefore has full access to the AED that hangs via a bracket for a quick and easy grab. The cover is attached to the back plate via a belt and needs no further attention from the responder. A stainless steel hook, attached to the bottom of the cabinet, can hold a seal, tag, lock or other appliance.

AED Cabinet : the box for emergency defibrillator
Installation of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is more and more recommended in workplace and generally in all public places. Indeed, this device, easy to use, increases the chances to survive of Sudden Cardiac Arrest. That’s why it’s really important to protect it with a suitable AED Cabinet. Two main categories exist: outdoor and indoor AED Cabinet.
The environment: an important parameter
Indoor and outdoor cabinets do not suffer from same environmental constraints. For example, an AED box made for being installed in the street must resist to the effect of sun which can damages plastics. The impact of UV rays can weaken the wall cabinet and compromise its sustainability. With the same goal, seals must guarantee a minimum of waterproofness to avoid damaging the electric device when it rains.
To summarize, an AED in an outdoor cabinet must be able to stay in good working whatever atmospheric conditions (water, dust, salt (from sea),…). Another constraint met by wall cabinet generally in outdoor environment is deterioration. Indeed, AED boxes are frequently installed in public places. It’s the aim, but this involves an exposition to intentional damages such as punches. Resistance is probably one of the most important qualities of an AED cabinet.
The second one is the protection against people who want to theft the defibrillator. For all these constraints, it’s essential to think in a higher level of security for protecting the AED. In some cases, it will be better to choose a box equipped with a camera. This will give a limited access to the device. Two photos will be taken: one during the opening of the box, one when AED is removed. These pictures are saved on a special server for more security.
Some cabinets are also based on a remote access. In this case, each person who wants to use the defibrillator has to give his intention by phone mobile (integrated to the box). AEDs are not games and a free access in outdoor environment can bring a lot of problems. Concerning indoor AED cabinets, they don’t need to get used to climate changes but they must be resistant too.
An appropriate design for emergency situations
AED Cabinet is not just a box. It’s a box which must protect an important device and catch the attention of all the passers-by to make sure everybody have seen where it is. Color of the box base was especially chosen for attracting people eyes. Even if we see it by far, its shape and color directly associate it to an emergency device.
Moreover, on the box face, a heart broken by an electric spark remembers the defibrillator logo. It is accompanied by “AED” written in big letters. This acronym of “Automated External Defibrillator” make the message clear: here there is a defibrillator for Sudden Cardiac Arrest victim. Then, there is no doubt on the use circumstances of this device. Furthermore, the AED cabinet size (not to small and not to big) is suitable for defibrillator. A tiny box would be more difficult to find in emergency situations. But there is not time to run everywhere, looking for an AED.
A sudden death victim can’t wait. She needs help in the five minutes which follows the accident. After, it will be too late for increasing her chance to survive. That’s why the design of a wall cabinet is so important. Other essential aspect of the design is the box opening. AED cabinet is made for containing a defibrillator. If we need ten minutes to open it, it is not appropriate for emergency situations. AIVIA AED boxes are fitted with a vertical opening. All is thought for being fast. Nevertheless, it could be interesting to choose a striking signage to insist on the AED localization in the area around the wall cabinet. In an indoor environment, everybody knows where is the emergency exit. In the same way, each person can be able to find rapidly the nearest Automated External Defibrillator. Directional signs, self-adhesive “AED / Defibrillator” signs or an AED 3D panoramic wall sign can give more visibility to the cabinet. So, it will be easier for the public to find a defibrillator.

For this reason, AIVIA products can have a sensor which detects all the problems found on each device. A system memorizes this information and allows to reacting in consequence. AIVIA products use well-known materials which are recognized for their high resistance to shocks. ABS and polycarbonate are respectively use in industry for crash helmets and automobile headlights. The first one can be employed to 80°C and the second one 120°C. Consequently, AIVIA products have a good thermal resistance. They are also equipped with a system which can control internal temperature (inside the box). Indeed, in winter or in summer, the temperature variation is significant. Well, an Automative External Defibrillator does not support very well these changes. Products distributed by HD1PY have a sensor which measures the temperature in the cabinet. When it is out of range, a trigger activates fan or heating systems. In this way, defibrillator is always in good conditions of storage.
The outdoor AED cabinet and indoor AED cabinet distributed by HD1PY are adapted for the storage of defibrillators. There are modern, high-tech and made for withstanding outdoor and indoor constraints.
